Sundarban forests have been ranked as the largest Delta in the World. Covering approximately 10,000 square kilometres (3,900 sq mi), it is a behemoth of untamed swamp and wilderness.
Sundarban- The Den of Royal Bengal Tigers
According to the 2015 tiger census, the Sundarbans have about 170 tigers which makes for almost 1/4th of the living tigers across the globe. The royal charm and cutthroat predator nature makes the Great Bengal Tiger one of the most fearsome animal alive on the planet.

Sundarban is a unique combination of flora and fauna. Spanning across a 10,000 sq kms, Sundarban comprises of a total 245 genera and 334 plant species and an equally diverse range of aquatic as well as land animals.

Sundarban has been gifted with as many as 54 islands within the delta region. This is due to the wast breakup of channels caused by the rivers Ganga and Bramhaputra.

With it’s geo-genetic structure upon the tectonic Bengal Basin, Sundarban is one of the most world’s most widest, deepest and tectonically active deltas. The prograding nature comes from the formation of thick layers of floodplain deposits and ever-changing sea levels.
